First of all make new shutters out of real wood that actually look like they would fit the window (measure window and divide by 2). Second hang them with actual hardware on the window frame, not on side of the window (so if closed they would come together in the middle and the window trim would actually frame them). This gives the shutters some substances and makes them appear more authentic and functional even if they aren't. Next, paint them a dark gray or black and you basically can choose any color for the front door, I like the examples posted here; red (my first choice), yellow, turquoise. You might want to add a shelf or window box under the one shorter window with some bright flowers or potted plants. Do some chairs with bright colors on the porch to add a little punch.

I would suggest black shutters and a red door for a striking/classic look and given your roof color. I would also suggest removing the current shrubs and creating flowing/curving landscaping beds with a variety of plants on both sides of the entry pathway.
