Place of Grace posted this on Facebook: The Cookeville ladies had a yummy new take on the standard s'more. They roasted marsh mellows over our fire pit and then wrapped the warm goo over a strawberry. They also made s'mores with chocolate chip cookies instead of gram crackers. Decadent!
If any group wants a fire in the fire pit, one of my sons will build it for them, free of charge (but s'more tips are appreciated).

Nope, the strawberry sounds too healthy for retreat. I could do with the chocolate chip cookies though.

The whole thing sounds too messy and sticky for me to have it around fabric. lol I like charred roasted marshmallows, though. :-)

I so wish I could be there, but I will be just 5 days out from my first proximal hamstring surgery. I will not be sitting or walking much at that time. :(

You will be missed, Jackie. We will make something special for you.

Jackie, You will surely be missed as will all your strings, strips, squares, etc. :-) Sorry you'll be laid up for a time but hopefully it will help to eliminate the pain you've been experiencing and will be able to dance at the next retreat. You are a gem! BTW, I'm still sorting...........

I think Clay is the only person who has ever danced at a retreat. Perhaps we should start a new tradition.

Hello to the quilters going to retreat! I hope to make it there again one of these days. If anyone is ever traveling from this area (I'm in central SC), let me know and I would be more likely to travel with someone. I won't be able to arrange anything for the dates in September that are coming up though.

Jackie, I hope your surgery goes well.

Just yesterday I pulled out lots of my UFOs and talked to myself about finishing them. Some were part of the birthday block exchanges. I set aside the smallest one which has the blocks all sewn together and hope to finish it soon and use it as a wall-hanging. The blocks are all so beautiful from those exchanges. If I get this one completed, I'll be sure to post a picture.

I still have some of my birthday blocks to finish up so you are not alone. We would love to have you join us again.
