Help with picture size for bedroom

Hi! I have a bedroom wall that is ca 5m long and 2.7m tall, it has a door on the corner, so actual wall is ca 4m long. The wall is all white, nothing on it and it faces the bed.

I want to put as large of picture as possible there.

Now, how big should this picture be? Bed itself is 1.8m wide and is in center of the room, looking at center of the wall (with door offset to the left).

Should the picture be same width as bed with 3:2 landscape aspect ratio? Should it may be be wider than the bed in order to give that "window" effect`?

You could take blue painters tape (because it won't hurt your walls and comes off easily) and try out different configuations. You get a visual that way.

Art and the placement of art is subjective. I have seen art hung in so many different configurations. There is no right or wrong. You could go from ceiling to floor, you could hang a piece of art that is only 6"x6". It is really up to you and what you like.

If you really love a piece of art, they could be as big or small as you wish.

Do you think a picture the same heigh positioned same way as window would be a good idea (and length of it determined by the aspect ratio vs height`?)
Or going for something bigger is OK?

I was thinking match the window. Try wih the tape first to see what you think. Reason is when you walk into the room, you see the window straight ahead right? So it would be a cohesive flow.

The other 2 ladies who responded are right as well. My background is model home merchandising and our design rules are a little specific to that world. The two floral pictures you show is something we would use.

I liked two pictures idea but looking at my wall i have TV socket there which would stick out between the two paintings. So while Idea is cool and matches two people in bed somehow, it is probably not going to happen ....

@tallest, how about a triptych? That would cover your sockets with the middle piece. I would put a "far away" landscape, to give the illusion of more depth to the room.

Just some other ideas for décor!

I think a couple framed photos or paintings would be nice. Society 6 is a great place to go!
On the wall next to your closet some small bookshelves. I'm really into the reclaimed wood shelves right now!

I also think some different pieces of art would be nice to add as well! It'll give the space more color and texture! Or maybe a mirror? I love the exposed brick and the round chandelier! It already gives your room an urban chic vibe!

Hmmm. This may be a first for me. I've seen people choose art by color, by style, by subject, but I don't believe I've ever seen one chosen by aspect ratio.

Choose the art you love and want to look at every day. You could do a huge canvas, but there are other options. Do a black and white photo wall, or a gallery wall of mixed-sized framed prints. You could arrange them so a whole print covers the TV sockets. Remember, whatever you put on that wall will be the first thing you see every morning. Make sure it's something you love.

I had fun manipulating the pictures and learnt something new about my program. Here it is and hope this will helps you to envision the bedroom with pictures although the size was not cropped to the perfect scale, Hang any picture you want and it doesn't have to be my paintings. If you are not going to put any shelf/furniture by the wall, triptych can be good idea too. If that's me, I would have some different size pictures to give me some landscape of the grouping.

I think you should flip the bed and put it against the wall without brick. Then place your art work over the bed which will anchor it. The room is too heavy on that one side. Some fresh bedding would go a long way. Good luck
