Having a towel bar under the window is fine, but it's WAY too close to the toilet in this situation. Too close for comfort IMO. Instead of a towel bar would hooks be able to go anywhere?

I was thinking the same as Sina. I have no problem with under the window. The towel bar at my vanity is under the window, but no where near the toilet. I suppose you do what you must, the room does need a towel bar or something on which to hang towels - someplace. That close to the toilet wouldn't be ideal though.

Maybe if you sketch the layout, we can suggest a spot. If there is one...

Sina thanks for your comment, I will take that into consideration. To be fair, the picture is a bit deceiving. There is enough room for the towel bar that it won't be right on top of the toilet. How much clearance do you all think would be "safe"?

What is the shower design? Can you add a towel bar to the outside, and one on the inside (for wet wash cloths)?

Hmm yeah I guess I could have done that. I ended up getting a DreamLine Aqua Fold which doesn't have a bar though.

Evan is it too late to cancel your shower door order? Those towel bars are a good way to go. If not hooks farther from the pee pee area would be my vote.

Evan, we bought a very small house a couple of years ago had same issue in the “master” bath. The sellers had left an over-the-door set of hooks I used at first for bath towel. Not great but something. Didn’t really want a towel bar under the window-too cramped. Finally had husband install a short grab bar on narrow wall next to tub/shower for safety. But now I use that also for hand towel just loop it thru. Had planned a hook. A pretty one can work really well . You can see my setup here. And edge of hand towel looped over the grab bar.

I actually like hooks better than towel bars since no one ever folds the towel back on the bar anyway I agree that spot is too close to the toilet and you can wait until everything else is done before worrying about hanging a towel.

I have a towel bar under the window, no problems even though one end is near the stool and TP holder. I have a hook on the wall above the vanity for the hand towel.....Ugh! Towel falls off all the time. I will be looking for something else for the hand towel.

I have the same situation! We have a good size bathroom but not much wall space! I’m planing on putting a towel rack under the window! No toilet there ! We have a toilet room ! So I’m hoping it will look good!
