You might try planting them right now.

I just planted some leftover seed potatoes from this spring that was sprouting in the house(but i'm in zone 7,oklahoma).

They need time to grow before your frost date.

If your small potatoes have eyes starting to sprout they will have a better chance of coming up.

What is the frost date for your location ?

Check with your local extension agent for fall planting dates.

You could try it as an experiment, but I would try to store them in a cool dark place until March and plant them then.

It does work sometimes but you run the risk of them rotting in the ground without sprouting. Let us know how it goes!

I posted this on another thread, but for what it's worth:

"The 4 Canela Russet potatoes I planted on July 28, from seed potato came up on August
5, Monday, and the plants are now 6" tall. The biggest is 12" diameter."

I might experiment with one of those plants, leave it in the ground, see how many of the spuds will germinate after spending the winter in the ground?
