Hi Linda, Glad your eye surgery was able to get done this time. I hope it all works out for you. I have a 5 more book bags to complete, so hope to get a few of them done over the week-end. I should get the baby quilt, batting and backing together for sandwiching, too. (what makes me think I should start making Christmas blocks?)

Oh I wish! This summer has been a very dry time for sewing. This past week was an example of what has been going on. There was a doctor or hospital visit every day and more to come. DH must now go to two types of therapy twice a week for twelve weeks. And since he is not allowed to drive, guess who will be doing that?

Since I am most accustomed to quiet days at home, it is taking a toll. Any spare time finds me in my comfy chair with some cross stitching in hand.

But I am here every day keeping up with everyone's news. Now that surgery is over and trips to out of town doctor are over, I hope to plan my days coming up with time for me and my machine.

Linda, I had my two cataract surgeries within four days. Good results! I am sure you will be pleased with your results.

Theresa, You take care of yourself and rest in your chair, or wherever you want to when needed. I remember the days of hospitals, rehabs and then home but having rehab coming to the house plus the home health nurse every day......it takes a toll. Sewing will be there when you feel you have the time. Hugs.......

Theresa, try taking some handwork with you. I find it helps pass the time.

Yesterday I got a small table topper quilted and bound, and finally made the tablecloth for the dining table. I work today, but since it will be 100 outside, I plan to do some sewing and/or putting things together for retreat when I get home.

Theresa, wish I lived close enough to help you. I am the driver around here most days since I'm the caregiver to DH, who had to retire early b/c of health complications. Thankful my kiddos are around enough to help. Hang in there!

No quilting around here today. After the dog gets his bath and the house is tidied up, I have some 'needful things' sewing to do....Skivvies! Yep, I'm stitching new underwear today. :)

I spent a few hours this afternoon mindlessly sewing coins. A while back I started cutting up scraps in different sizes and now all the shoe boxes are driving me crazy. I can barely fit into my sewing area with everything I have going, including the Zelda quilt. So I decided to try and hurry and finish one quilt - the coin. Then I'll return to Zelda.

Linda, sending you good wishes for your recovery. I had both eyes corrected back in 2008 - I wasn't lucky enough to not have to wear glasses but the ability to see again was miraculous for me. Get some rest and take care of yourself.

I'm still working on string pinwheel quilt. I have 2 more borders to make and attach and then it will be ready for sandwiching and binding. Since this is a scrap quilt I'm doing the piano-key border on this one as I did the last one. But all this scrap usage doesn't seem to be getting rid of all these scraps in all these bins! What - are they breeding in there??

I also have a lot of fat quarters that were gifted to me through the years - anyone have good ideas on how to use up some of that in a hurry?
