Just sorry I don't have more details for you. I often thought of knocking on their door to ask them about it, but doggie and I were usually over there around sunrise so I thought it would be a bit pushy at that time of day.

At the 2018 club fruit tree sale, I picked up a green wax jambu (I think it is also known as a rose apple). Put out a few flowers this year, but didn't set any fruit. Erik said the GWJ stays (or can be kept small) and puts out a lot of fruit.

Still in a pot and about 4 foot tall.

dangermouse, same thing I want a red one. From what I understand it grows well from cutting. By the way I started a YouTube channel on gardening. I haven't been able to go to the meetings lately. If it would be a bother could you share with the club members. Be safe in the storm.

I planted the green variety three years ago. It fruited the first year with about 10 or 15 fruits on the tiny tree. I was shocked. I used them in salads. It hasn't fruited since haha.

I bought a red variety of malay apple last summer, about 2 ft tall. Planted in the ground without any amendment , move it three times and now is about 5-6 ft tall and looking happy. I am thinking of air layering it because the location is not ideal but the plant is too big to move. As far as I know, the plant/tree is very large when mature. I remembered (from my childhood before moving here) them as being as big as mango tree, must be more than 30 ft tall.

Thanks HU that's the exact type I am looking for and haven't been able to get info about our find. I had some to eat many years ago and loved them.
