I think I need to be more generous with the fertilizer and also move it to a bigger pot.

Yes, they do take as much fertilizer as you can get on them, even every week if you can get away with it. (Lots of cities are on fertilizer ban.) And water regularly otherwise they droop.

I don't fertilize mine nearly enough, but somehow, once they start blooming, they never stop. I just had one of my small Charles Grimaldis put out blooms. I planted it in the shade and didn't fertilize it enough, so it isn't very big at all, but it's blooming!
