Where to put tv in long, narrow living room?

Hi! I recently bought a home and would love any suggestions or ideas where to place tv in our long and narrow living room! To make things more challenging our living room has three doors, a fireplace and many windows. The door to our porch is also directly across from fireplace. We are planning to get new furniture so no need to incorporate current furniture into design! We would love to get a sectional but can’t figure out best place for tv. I appreciate any ideas as we have been stumped!

In the trash. I'm only kidding, I know for most people what will never happen.

I absolutely always start with the function of a room. Is watching TV the only thing you want to do in this room? If so, put the TV wherever you want it and arrange the furniture around it comfortably. If watching TV isn't the only purpose of this room, consider making two small rooms out of one room by arranging furniture as if it is in two rooms instead of one. That will allow you to make a focal area of the fireplace (maybe flank it with chairs or small sofas facing one another on either side?) or add an office area where right now you only see a living room.

I definitely recommend NOT buying furniture until you've put some thought into how you want to use this room, then lived in it a while with your current furniture in an appropriate layout. I'm always baffled when people put their sofas against walls. It makes one feel as if they're hiding in a corner when they're sitting on it. Try pulling the sofas away from the walls and creating functional spaces instead of trying to fit the furniture you "should" have into a "living room."

I think you currently have the TV in the best spot. It gives you a seating area for the TV on the right side of the fireplace. You could use a sectional in that corner if you prefer it over the sofa and chair. For the other end of the room, instead of the lonely sofa, use a grouping of armchairs around a small round coffee table. It will give you two areas to relax but keep the walkways clear.

You might want to add a floor plan including measurements. Inspiration photo shows a two seating living room.

I think where you have the TV is good2 seating areas are a good slution for long rooms and in this case for sure,I would not put a sectional in this space it will cut off the room and make the 2 seating aras not connected.

How did you solve this? We have a similar problem with a grand at one end and TV along fireplace wall Also a walk-thru living room

Us as well Grand piano one end and one long wall with fireplace and windows on the other. Fireplace too tall for TV Only 12 feet wide. If I pull furniture into center it blocks any walking through. I have two large tall sons so no small chairs and everyone likes to gather to watch TV We have trouble fitting 5 people in there . Argh
