Hi: I have an acrylic tub for the first time. I have noticed it must be cleaned much more frequently than the porcelain one it replaced. I used to get away with cleaning it (porcelain) every 2nd week, but no more. Soap seems to adhere more to the acrylic, and there is only 2 of us using it - one of us showers at home only every 2nd day (showers at work) Had I known this, I would've gone for the porcelain - I'm all about ease of use/cleaning. perhaps I shouldn't be using vim?

suetutko - what is the make of your tub? I'm trying to choose between acrylic and cast iron for my remodel project right now. I've only owned cast iron tubs. Wondering if all acrylics are the same or if your particular make is a problem. Would love to hear from anyone with an acrylic tub...what is their make? and are they pleased with it?

Here is an eHow article about the advantages and disadvantages of both. http://www.ehow.com/info_8558748_acrylic-vs-porcelain-bathtubs.html
