A new color could do wonders. Paint the garage door the color of the body.

    I like this gray blue.

Thanks! I really like the second gray.

Any suggestions around the windows to dress them up?

Actually, I like your exterior color and it goes well with the color of the roof. You could paint the white part of the siding (under the second floor windows) in the same blue color and that will add a visual balance to the exterior of your home.

Also, I would recommend focusing on the front door appearance as well and really dress it up. You could paint the front door in an accent color. Then try adding a large outdoor lantern and a nice outdoor pot with a plant. Play with the asymmetrical look that your front entrance has.

And to add an overall balance to the exterior, you could add some beautiful flower urns/pots with plants on the both sides of your garage. Just choose your style and be consistent,

    Good Luck!

Painting everything the same color (other than the window trim and your front door) will give the house a cleaner look. After we you choose a color, the door color is another question. But the light/medium grays are going to look great on your house. Yes, paint the garage door the same color. It’s too prominent being white. M

    another gray house? lol

the blue is nice for a change. I'd get a new front door, or paint that one. pick a color!

Peacock or a yellow would be nice

If you lose the white and do a medium gray trim on the home, this warm burnt orange would look nice

Adding windows to the garage door and toning down the white would also do wonders.

your main issue is landscaping. I realize were in autumn, but the pathway and bare wall leading up to the house needs something. The crop circle of shrubs in the middle of the grass also don't do much.

don't know what the budget is, but talk to a landscape designer to get some ideas.

this is a beautiful landscape. notice the garage door. do yours like this w/the windows and carriage trim hardware. the little arbor over the top is nice too. maybe add some lighting.

Thanks to everyone for all of their suggestions! I love the gray and there are no other grays on the street of this home, but some of the other comments made me dig for other colors.

Whatre some thoughts on the following colors for the house:

I would focus on revamping the landscaping and hardscape first & worry about paint colors after. . The front walkway is too narrow & should continue down parallel to the driveway.

The landscaping is another project that has actually been decided on just trying to decide about the exterior of the home at this point.

Upgrade/enlarge all the lantern lights (1/4 - 1/3 the height of the front door,) Fill the panels between windows with cedar shakes, get a cedar garage door with windows at the top, paint siding, trim and gutter system charcoal gray. Change the front door to something black and glass. This will work with your white windows if you're not changing them. Color example below; not for style though.

I very much like the unique color of your home. I would leave it and address zushing up the garage door area with a more interesting door and perhaps an MCM design wall pergola over the door

I love the medium gray body and bright white trim.

I like your house just the way it is ! The only thing I would add is a pretty tree at the sharp curve of your walkway and flowers along the garage wall !

I'm with Team Blue (though if you keep it, match the white panels to the blue)

It's a shame you didn't mention landscaping was off the table since you asked for an update. Landscaping is a huge update. With the money you save from repainting (unless it needs a paint job), a brick walkway to link with your handsome red brick chimney. Reconsidered landscaping would reframe your house entirely.

I also like the current color. The one thing I would do is paint the trim boards and downspout the same color as the siding. I would also trim back the bushes that obscure the bottom windows.

Here's a dark gray with a bit more color in the landscape and the door.

Grover, would you try adding cedar at the white part of the windows and for a garage door, and paint the trim gray too? One day I'm gonna get you to do a tutorial for the rest of us so we don't put so much pressure on you! THX

that looks great. the gray w/the wood is perfect

If you don't do the cedar (which is fab) make sure the paint all the pieces in the white sections white. Eliminate the blue lines in the middle of the white (the "t" below the upper window and the dividing line on the upper section).

If you decide to do the cedar be prepared for maintenance. It can look pretty bad after a few years without it.

Yes to the dark grey and cedar. Looks fantastic. I'm with the original poster - I don't like the current blue. Too washed out looking.

I agree that the current color is not ideal.

I love the dark grey and cedar as well.

Another vote for the cedar. That whole look is modern and fabulous. Changing the garage and front door as well will totally update your house. Then you can consider complementary landscaping. We ALL appreciate groveraxle and others who are the photoshop experts!

If you go cedar on the garage doors, I would highly recommend CHI - I hunted high and low to find something that looked like REAL wood planks and I love ours! They have a cedar color that would work for you. https://www.chiohd.com/garage-doors/studio/planks

Also notice the cedar on the garage goes horizontally. That whole look is fabulous.

I'm a big fan of charcoal and cedar right now; even my bedroom is charcoal with bronze drapes - sort of an homage to cedar. Glad grover could render it for us.

Well, apparently the OP is not all that interested. He hasn't returned.
