Agree with Arthur about it being a Dend. I would only add that it looks like a hardcane. When the flower opens fully try to take a closeup.

Also contact your local orchid society…someone there may be able to help you and maybe take it off your hands if you don't want to keep it.

I know those are unopened "blooms". I didn't think the term bloom vs. bud would make a difference.

I am not looking to rehome it, just curious what it is, so I can care for it better and a little bit for curiosity''s sake.
