We see no nook and no "gizmos"

My apologies! I uploaded the post on mobile and the pictures must not have attached. I am seeing them there now that I've done it on desktop. :)

Looks like it's an old electric meter, with the rest of it discarded. Cover it up, with new siding : ) Unless you want a mailbox or something.

What is on the other side of the gizmos it looks to me like that is some elctrical going into the house.

@JAN MOYER Thanks, I believe you're right! I actually just had a meeting with the siding contractor and he said the same thing, that it's an old junction box for the original meter. He said he could insulate and cover it but I think I will still ask my electrician about installing a side light and replacing the stained glass door.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting There is nothing showing on the interior of the house, but I think the electrical wiring was part of the original meter as Jan said.
