Replacing Kitchen Faucet

Hi, I need to replace my kitchen faucet because it’s leaking and rusted so I’ll be putting the new faucet on my old sink. I plan on getting a new sink and counters someday when I save up more but is it possible to put the new faucet onto a new sink eventually without damaging the faucet or would I need to possibly buy a new faucet again when I someday buy a new sink?

You can use the same faucet if you install and remove it when needed without damaging it and installing it on the new sink.

Buy a faucet with an option to be installed onto the sink and directly unto the counter, in case down the road you decide to install granite and under-mount sink, you can use the same faucet to be installed directly onto the counter without the metal plate.

Buy a new sink with a flat rim that can be used as a top mount or under mount. Attach the new faucet and new strainer baskets to the new sink.

Remove the old sink and faucet as a whole. This will be 100x easier for an amateur to deal with than buying a basin wrench to work in the tiny space between the existing sink and wall, to remove just the faucet. Which has corroded to the sink and doesn’t want to be removed.
