Don, I've grown Valencia peanuts in Michigan. I never noticed that they had flowered and I was watching and knew what to look for. I did not expect a harvest. But when I went to pull them out in the fall, I found peanuts underground. As far as I know, Valencia types have the shortest days to maturity of any peanuts. My seeds were only labeled as Valencia - no variety name. I grew them in a raised bed so the soil may have been warmer than in the open garden. Perhaps that helped.

Farmerdill, I may try the Spanish variety. I didn't know they were quicker than Valencias to mature. Thanks for the info.

Early Spanish is the earliest I know.
