Are you quilting this weekend? Oct. 18-20

Hello Quilters! Did you quilt this week? I finished two tops. I am working on the small Frivols quilt kits that were given to me. I finished one on Monday and on Tuesday I finished the second one at Featherweight Club. I haven't had time to sew since then.

I am making another quilt for Honor Flights. It is a charity that my guild supports. I have a Hunter's Star in red/white/blue that I am putting together now. If I have time, that is what I will be sewing this weekend. My DS and family are coming Saturday and my DD's girls are coming for a sleepover on Sunday night. I may be too tired to sew after this weekend! lol

Are you sewing or quilting this weekend?

I hope to finish binding the last two placemats and hemming the last two napkins for my daughter this weekend.

I just found out that two of my nieces are being married soon - one in April and one on a date unknown as yet. I need to get "Crossroads" sandwiched, quilted and bound for one of them. I think I will give the other "Compelling Women," if I can finish it in time. Somehow, I don't feel right giving them a quilt made out of scraps as a wedding gift.

I am trying to finish two more star blocks for my brother's VFW charity quilt I am making and then add them to the first section. This will make get it more than double bed sized, but he wants queen size, so I will need to figure out the last borders. If I can get the stars attached I will be happy.

I am also covering a "mattress" for an American Girl doll bed and making a fitted and top sheet for a friend's granddaughter. She gave me the fabric for the sheets so will see how it works out!

That will be the end of my sewing for a while, my shoulder surgery is scheduled for Monday morning. It will be 10 days before my post-op meeting with the surgeon, so no sewing until after Halloween... AAAGGGHHHH! Oh well, maybe I can get caught up on some reading.

I sewing for several hours today and almost finished a quilt! I should get back to sewing more this weekend and finish it. Then I hope to piece the D9P blocks all ready for the toddler quilt.

Sue, I hope your surgery goes well on Monday!

I am going to try to get downstairs in my sewing room to do my two BOM for October. I also need to finish painting the window trim and closet door in my recent bathroom makeover. I certainly would rather quilt than paint, lol. I also have two double overhead garage doors that need a face lift as well. I Should prime them for a new paint/sealer this weekend, but I'm really not motivated to do that at all right now. Yesterday I went to dermatologist for my first skin check...had two suspect moles removed. I'm a bit sore in those areas >.<

Sue, I hope your surgery goes well, too!

Sue, good luck with your surgery. Will you be having a replacement or some clean-up?

Yes, Sue good luck with the surgery!

I hope to get back to the machine soon. I have the first side borders pinned on baby quilt. They have been pinned for three days. I don't know where the time goes. Well, yes I do, doctor appts. , xrays, ultrasound, and therapy sessions. Some for DH, some for me.

And trying to clean up the garden when the weather is warmish! And a big fat dose of fatigue!! Will try hard this week.

Well, best laid plans ... I managed to get the two star blocks made, but did not get them put together or attached to the quilt. We ended up having friends over for dinner and cards last night,
church & then out to lunch today, and DS, DIL, and granddaughter over this evening. We even ended up babysitting our grand DOG overnight last night because she doesn't do well with strangers and the kids had friends in from out of town and they had small kids. Crazy.

Lois, I am having some clean-up work done on the shoulder - bone spurs and arthritis - have got bone on bone right now. Thanks everyone for the good thoughts. Hopefully, I will be back to the sewing machine quickly!

Sue, I hope the surgery goes well and recovery is quick!

I didn't end up following my plan, either. I did iron the top, but just didn't really feel like tackling loading a king size quilt on my barely king size frame. :) I did spend a long time yesterday replacing a broken zipper in a dress, and I did some hand piecing, so the weekend wasn't a total loss. LOL

Hubby's birthday was Saturday. I had a gig at church Sat. night so I took him to a swanky restaurant on Friday.

Getting ready to leave or Florida. Have to decide what fabric to take and what to leave behind. So hard. I’ll miss whatever I don’t take with me.

Well, it's 8:22 Sunday evening, and I haven't sewed a stitch yet. I might yet, but I might not. I did get a bunch of yard work done this weekend - pots emptied and put away, shrubs and bushes trimmed back, flower gardens cleaned up, some iris moved (I hope it's not too late). We didn't get any raking done, but at least if it snows, the rest is done. I guess the leaves could wait until spring. I hope everyone had a nice weekend.
