undermount sink question

We are installing a farmhouse undermount sink and it comes up about 1/8 inch above cabinet (and install instructions says it should be 1/8 inch below cabinets). Can countertop installers put a notch on underside of counters make up for this? We are using Ikea cabinets... thanks!

What material are the counters made of? I would call your fabricator directly and ask.

Pull the cabinet doors and any shelf on which the sink is setting. Buy and install a Pete's Sink Mount and lower the adjustments so the sink is below the cabinets 3/4" or so. Install the tops, silicone the sink flange, and dial the sink up to the bottom of the tops with the PSM adjustments.

No top notching or shimming, please.

I would add 1/4-5/16" thick strips to the tops of the cabinet sides.

The tops of the doors look very close to the bottom of the sink so I question if the Pete's Mount suggested above will work in your situation.

The doors are adjustable. They'll get the 1/8" they need easily.

5/16" shims per ci_lantro... save $279 and much easier.
