My nephew is in Santa Rosa. He and his family were evacuated Sunday. It's a scary situation.

I got an email from Linda - she said: " Yes we're ok. We're having lots of power outages and smoke. Stores closed n traffic lights out so we just stay home. You can live on pnut butter n jelly when refrig fails."

Bkay, I hope your nephew and his family stay safe.

I don't understand how the power lines can be causing fires. Are they in such bad shape that they just break?

Good to hear from you, Linda, and that you're ok. Glad you have power at home but have still prepared for 'camping' if need be. Please keep us updated when you're able to. Nothing wrong with peanut butter and jelly. We consider them a staple and always have on hand along with bread and crackers. Have you noticed the cans of veggies with the pull-off lids? I've been keeping a few of those on hand, too. :-)

Linda, glad you are ok. Such a sad situation.

Nephew and family are back home, but without power for almost a week, now. They don't believe they are in danger, but are keeping the cars packed.

Linda, I'm so happy that you are coping well with the situation. I have a friend who lost everything in the Paradise Fire. Watching the news reports is just horrifying. I'm so sorry that your beautiful state is suffering so.

Keep safe! The fires look just terrible on the news.

We're getting back to normal. Power is back on most places but I feel sad for those returning to burned homes.
