Maybe I can help. I didn't do the project but for a beach house these floors would need to be engineered for stability. That doesn't mean they couldn't be site finished however. We love making wide plank engineered flooring, let me know if you have any questions. :-)

A high quality domestic white oak engineered floor with a whitewash finish would be an excellent choice.
