I think you have plenty of room for a larger table, either where it is or in the dog area.

Turn the table the other direction and pull it away from the door. You have plenty of room there.

I've built a 3D mock up for you to help you visualize your space better. Since the pace is tight, I'd recommend you push the table to the wall to make a bit more space for circulation. If this is a space you don't use very often, You could also add a dining that has a leaf that can be pulled out when required.
