It’s not a friendly, inviting room yet. You need art, window treatments, color and light. I prefer less bulky furniture because it takes up less space, but it can be comfortable.

I agree felizlady. Working on one thing at a time. Right now, concentrating on the fireplace and that wall. I have an idea for furniture because I’ve been working with Modsy, but they won’t address the fireplace itself. It may look something like this when finished but different fireplace.

Is the TV staying? If so, is that the best wall for it? If so, is the fireplace removable? If so, have you considered removing it as having both the TV and fireplace on that wall is just too much for the size of that wall.

It is a gas log fireplace and not moveable. Tv needs to stay somewhere on that wall. All 3 other walls have large doorways that take up most of the wall.

I keep looking at your room and I keep circling back that maybe a slab of limestone might not overwhelm the room and that wall as much as stone. This solid look is more popular using concrete but I think for your room, something like a slab of limestone will be the right look.

Don't look at the crown molding or mantle but this is what I'm talking about when I say a slab. I think this one is limestone. And I think a light colored slab will not make your angled ceiling stand out as much as stone is going to. And it's a color that will endure paint changes.
