I know there have been some serious quality issues with West Elm products (Peggy Sofa and some marble tables) and particularly their delivery vendor BUT we have the mid-century media cabinet, Urban Sectional, seven dining chairs and a few coffee tables and are very happy with them all so far (been 6 months since remodel). I've been sticking with mostly contract-grade pieces and feel that is a safer bet.

There is a lot of info out there regarding leather types. The description as written is not a combination I have seen so I would do some more research.

Totally get the need to want to SIT the chairs. Depth, seat height, foam quality ALL make a huge difference on the comfort. Wayfair allows for free returns as long as you are willing to take store credit. Article allows for one free exchange within 30 days, and $49 returns. We have a beautiful ottoman from them and reviews on most of their products are excellent.

The most important thing is that you find the chair comfortable. Also consider the leather type that is being used. If it's high-quality it might be a bit pricier, but it will definitely last you longer and wear out nicely!

Another thing I do to kind of gauge furniture durability is to check facebook marketplace or craigslist for resales of the same model. Oftentimes it's a good way to see what something looks like in a few years.

And finally, if you are unsure of the leather durability, go with fabric! West Elm has a ton of fabric options - just stay away from viscose always! We have the distressed velvet and poured all kinds of food and greasy stuff on the swatch to test it's cleanability. It passed! Then bring in leather on an ottoman...

Thanks everyone! I just found a deeply discounted similar chair from Article yesterday that I was able to sit in first. I know they have had some issues as well but I’m hoping this one lasts a while. I appreciate the input!
