Help me choose a vanity for our transitional bathroom

Help! I need to settle on a vanity for our bathroom remodel before the end of the week. I should have hired a designer long ago but didn’t and now have to figure it out by myself.

We’re looking for a 72” double vanity. These are the vanities we're considering, given the time, measurements and cost constraints we’re facing.

Fresca Allier double vanity ($2,385):

I really like the look of this vanity but find the wood stain too dark. I could get used to it, I guess…

Wayfair floating vanity ($2,660):

Like the color of the wood and its simplicity but the top is made of “reinforced plastic” and the floating vanity might be too trendy for the lifespan I’m hoping this bathroom will have.

Karton Republic Birbury vanity ($2,770):

I like it but find the wood stain too grey.

James Martin Linear vanity ($4,000):

I love everything about this vanity except for the price.

I don’t really care for acrylic or plastic vanity tops. I want to avoid trends and feel like the floating vanity might be a trend.

Info about what we chose so far:

There will be a run of mirrored medicine cabinets above the vanity which will run the entire width of the wall. These won't be recessed, which might make the bathroom look more modern.

This is the porcelain tile that we will be using on the floor and up to 42“ on the walls.

These are the faucets we chose for the sinks and similar ones for the tub.

So, which one should we choose? Which one will still look good in 15 to 20 years from now? Any comments on these? Any other suggestions? We’re in Canada, so the options are somehow limited.

Can you get "Signature Hardware" in Canada? They also makes vanities.

Ultra modern gets "dated" pretty quickly. I've ben steering away from the sleek lines of your first two picks. The Birbury has a LOOK that clicks with me....and says transitional. I'd pick "it" and design the room around it.

Chispa, Signature Hardware ships to Canada but are charging USD$684 which is rediculously expensive! That's too bad because there were a few that I like from them.

Nicole, thanks for your honest input. My eyes have seen soo many vanities I can't distinguish trendy anymore. I like this vanity too. My only concern is that someone reviewed this vanity stating that it was more grey than chestnut IRL. Do you think that wood tone will get dated quickly?

If you are placing this flush between two walls, (like you see below) some of these are not options. Most of these are 'free standing' vanities.

Free standing vanities do not touch the side walls.

BeverlyFLADeziner, we can consider both styles as there is a wall on one side and the tub on the other side. The layout is similar what you see on to this picture (style is different, not as modern).

Other brands to consider that come as vanity+countertop combos, plus semi-customizable options: Strasser, Ronbow, Fairmount Designs. These are sold at my local good plumbing store. Maybe yours too? (you can see them in person or at least the wood sample). Good luck!

I like the Wayfair floating vanity the best with the stone and plumbing fixtures you have chosen. It's simple, not very fussy, and seems the most timeless. Does the 72" span the width of the wall it will be on? If so, it may feel more anchored even though it's floating.

I checked out Strasser Ronbow and Fairmount Design. The 72" vanity is not often available unfortunately. Strasser had one but no showroom in Canada.

Fuse Achistects, what you are describing about the Wayfair vanity is also what appeals to me. Still not convinced about the quality as it is made of MDF and the top is reinforced plastic. The 72" doesn't span the entire width of the wall but could reach the wall on one side. The tub is on the other side.

Did you look at room and board??? They have lots of 72” selections now and real wood / better quality for same price as some you are showing. We just put in linear walnut vanity and love it
