I've never heard of anyone mulching indoor potted plants. Why bother? Especially when so many people use excessively water retentive potting mixes..

Indoor or container plants are generally not mulched. Ever. Even those that grew outside but are being overwintered due to hardiness issues. There is really no need and mulching can impede water percolation and drainage. Unless inside the house under very dry, low humidity conditions, the container is unlikely to dry sufficiently to require more than just the very occasional watering.

i presume you mean decorative ... if not.. advise otherwise.. what are you trying to accomplish????

once upon a time.. i toyed with aquarium gravels ... glass beads ... yada.. yada.. yada ...

it wanst worth the effort.. and usually got pretty ugly ..over time ...
