You don't have room in a 5' wide space for a separate toilet room. Your shower needs to be a minimum of 30", and your need a minimum of a 36" walkway to get past the shower to the toilet room. For those dimensions you need to put the shower where you show the toilet room and the toilet on the wall between the vanity and the shower. Honestly, I think it will feel tight with the layout you show even if you bump the width to 6'.

If you don't mind a tight bathroom, what you want is certainly possible in a 6" x 11" space.

By the toilet being in the 5' x 11' room, it is in separate room. Forego the gas chamber and do a layout similar to Mrs Pete's.

In general, the need for an enclosed toilet space usually occurs when the bathroom will be used by two people at the same time and they wish to have some privacy. But two people in a bathroom also requires more space for movement and often two lavs so the solution inevitably involves enlarging the bathroom.

The OP is aware of this and wants to know if a 6x11 space will work. The obvious answer is yes but it will be tight. I went a step further by drawing a plan to show how tight it would be.

I think it would only work if the space were to be 2 ft longer so a second sink would fit.

If the OP decides to abandon the two person bathroom approach, its obvious that a conventional bathroom layout will easily fit in the smaller of the two space options by switching the toilet for the shower.

You could have a decent-sized shower, toilet and vanity all in the 5x11 space. We have a similar space and set it up almost like the HOUZZ pic above. One thing we did was have the glass shower door swing inward and outward (the glass installer just doesn’t install the hinge stops). That way, the door doesn’t have to protrude into the room. We also put the shower head and valve on opposite walls so we could reach in to turn the water on without getting wet. Good luck!

If you are looking for privacy for more than one person, my brother has this setup and when we visit, I find it very convenient and it works well for two people.

11 feet gives you a nice shower, room for the toilet and a 48 inch vanity.
