Moisture condenses on metal that is of a varying temperature than the air around it. Is there any way to further insulate your windows and the door opening and metal trim to prevent the moisture from building up? Otherwise be sure to add an extra layer of protective sealant to the floor and consider using a moisture-proof rug or other item to collect drips on the surface without allowing moisture transfer to the floor.

Condensation occurs when there is a temperature difference between the air (warm) and the surface of the object (cold glass or cold metal or cold grass etc). The ONE THING that is required to have condensation = HUMIDITY. Yep. If you have humid air, you have moisture which can condense on cold objects.

The problems are:

1. Single pane windows = horrible insulation = guaranteed condensation

2. Metal door jam = horrible insulation = guaranteed condensation

The INSULATION of the door fixture is your problem. If you STOP the cold from reaching the INSIDE of the house (ie. stop the exterior temperatures from reaching the metal door jam) you will have fixed the problem. For good.

The lack of insulation around the door is the issue. Fix the insulation and you fix the problem.

In the short term you can you can drop the humidity in the home (careful with your hardwoods, they need 40% humidity to stay happy). You must have HUMIDITY in the AIR to have moisture condense on cold metal.
