deadlock wont go in flush. hitting strikeplate on side.

hello. i installed schlage deadbolt. it wont go in flush because striker plate is hitting it on the side. if i push the door in, it will go in flush.

my issue: i dont have anymore space to move the striker plate to the right. is there anything i can do to the DOOR in a way where it will go into the frame more(eg., when i push the door in it sits well, but when i simply close it, it moves a small amount where deadbolt wont go into plate.)

what to do to the door??

“if I push the door in” is this caused by weatherstripping, if so, can the weatherstrip be replaced. It may take a while, but file or grind the bolt to fit.

thank you. never thought of grinding the bolt. yes, i believe the weatherstrip is causing the issue, but wont any weatherstrip i install cause same issue?

Show photos of your actual strike plate and actual bolt. Don't grind the bolt. Sometimes the strike plate but only after other measures.

Schlage is builder grade, why not Baldwin or another higher end product? Also I always put a metal plate between the stud that the strike plate is on and the inside molding, makes it almost impossible the kick the door in.
