I would add another smaller set of pillows and/or a lumbar style pillow in the front. The larger ones should be in the back.

Style the nightstands - put the cords to the back.

the pillows are too big..have them in the back and add another smaller one in front..the bed is smaller than the ones you see in magazines (is it a twin or a full?).

The headboard looks too narrow for the bed and with those pretty but wide nightstands, it accentuates a narrow bed. I’d find some drapery the same color as the headboard and place a panel on each side of the headboard to visually widen it. Finish the top over the bed with some crown molding...I’d cheat and just get a window box crown and affix it to the wall and ceiling to finish off the space since it seems you don’t have crown molding in that room. It will also make the space more cozy and look more finished. Oh, and the pillow exchange the others have mentioned.

Could you find a ruffled sheer bed skirt make it more romantic mirrors on each side of bed would be a great idea

Like the idea of mirrors behind the lamps but would choose those without frames or with only the thinnest possible frames -- preferably white.

Center lamps on side tables.

A couple of larger bed pillows in solid colored (medium brown) pillow shams against the headboard behind all the other pillows would help the visual of the height of that headboard. If possible find a thin medium brown queen sized bed spread (with shams to match) that you can put underneath your comforter so you do not need a bed skirt.

I agree the headbord does not look the right size it looks like adouble with a queen bed I find duvets always look sloppy go to more coverlet type bedding with a thow at the end of the bed in a color you want to use for accent. The pillow are too big at the front BTW I never like more tan 4 pillows on a bed so maybe choose pillow covers with a color in them you would want to use for that accent color. I love the idea of mirros behind the lamps. No fake flowers .It would be nice to see the whole room. IMO the blue in the fake flowers would make a really nice accent color If you google how to use coverlet for bedding there is a great youtube about how to make your bed with one.

Remove the urns from the night stands and maybe add a picture on one and a tray on the other.

Consider 3 not 2 euro pillows against the headboard, which will give a strong horizontal line across the headboard and visually lower the headboard height. Or lower the headboard, then two pillows then one accent pillow. Maybe blue?
Neaten the bed by making it with tight sheets and corners tucked in, then fold the duvet into thirds and place at foot of bed.
Love the vertical mirrors as shown. Possible art over the bed at 2/3 width of bed.

In all the photos, the headboard is wider than the bed. I don’t think it’s too high, just that the effect isn’t wide enough. Just add fabric panels, it will cure the issue of not buying a wide enough headboard. Then it will add some coziness. If glam is the goal, choose a mirror not art above the bed, to reflect the chandelier adding more sparkle to the room.

Thank you all for your help. I have taken on board all your comments, will look for some frame less mirrors behind lamps, what sort of dimensions should I look for? same height as lamps? Tried the big cushions at the back they look awful so should I get a lumbar cushion same colour as the runner?, as shops are close had to do with what I had at the moment to give me an idea how it would look with smaller cushions in front does this look better now?

Go to a glass and mirror shop, they can cut and bevel and will be cheaper than going to a retail store. I’d go slightly narrower than the nightstands and higher than your headboard.

Based on your existing selections, I think your room would look better with a framed mirror in a finish that complements your chandelier, wallpaper and nightstands.

Move the nightstand a few inches away from the bed so your items can 'breath' in the room. Make sure the mirrors you select extend beyond the height of the headboard.

I would move your pillows around like you see in the photo adjustment

Here is some inspiration

Really like the vertical mirrors behind the lamps idea -- preferably without a frame or using the thin framed kind (perhaps painting the frame the same color as the wall minimizing the frame) - but do consider keeping the tops of your decorative items level with the top of the headboard for symmetry.

Instead of putting photos on the bedside tables, you might consider add three box shelves about halfway between the top of the headboard and the ceiling painted the same color as the wall -- one over each bed side table (each the same width as the table) and on over the bed (the same width as the bed.

Alternately, if the mirrors you find that you like b est are taller than the headboard, adding a box shelf between them can keep your decorative items the same height (for the sake of symmetry -- if the matters to you).

Your mirrors and headboard should NOT align. Symmetry can be BORING!

Looking at the inspiration mirrors posted the mirrors are nearly as wide as the bedside units should I go as wide?

Note: if you put a full bedspread on a twin bed or if you put a queen bedspread on a full bed, you'll likely need to pin up the corners at the foot of the bed -- literally take the corner dragging the floor at the point and lift it beneath the bedspread until it is n o longer dragging the floor and pin it there. Both sides.

Do choose a relatively thin quilted reversible bedspread -- both the same color even if a different shade. WallMart carries some.

If you use the larger safety pins that are coated to not rust, you can even wash the spread with the pins in it or, once you know you have both corners lifted where you want them, just make a couple hand stitches to hold it up. You will not need to cut off the corner and sew it unless you really want to. The effect -- layering and not needing a bed ruffle -- is well worth it.

Chances are if you find a mirror tall enough, it won't be nearly as wide as your chests.

Add a couple of pieces of art which include the blue of your little flower bouquet, and a soft blue runner rug near each side of the bed so your feet won’t touch a cool floor if you get up in the night.

Mel B .... I agree with those who said headboard too small.... that being said, off center your lamps , put either mirror or pictures behind. Ballard design or z galleries has nice ones. Also textures for the pillows. The solid pillows were from a designer but the fuzzy one is from home goods.

Add some color. You should accent a color on the wall, colorful pillows and different sizes of pillows for the bed.

Nudge the chests of drawers away from the bed. They look like they're crowding the bed. If they're a little further from the bed, they'll make the bed look "roomier".

With the mirrors behind the lamps on either side of your bed, I think you will like it. I don't care for your bed cover because it looks like the same color as your headboard. How about getting a cover with another softer color (blue, light teal or pink) and adding matching pillows and some small rugs on both side of your bed for your feet when getting out of bed. You just need more color, as someone else suggested.

Oh no really, searched high and low for taller ones and I fell in love with these ones will try placing them higher

Fold your darker quilt smaller so you see white one more a romantic bed skirt would really soften things up and get some cream and white flowers

Great improvements! Up higher with those fab mirrors. Bigger (much) hydrangea floral arrangement, fold that lush throw more narrow as previously suggested. You have a fair amount of feminine patterns, have you thought about adding in a neutral tartan or plaid? Then something 3D like Mongolian fur? Also...what ever color you introduce I to the room, like the lilac blue hydrangea, repeat it a total of 3x. Then add a candle, glass of wine or cup of tea...you’re done. O! Take a picture with all the lights one :)

Add a shearling rug to each side of the bed on the floor...Sams club has them cheap for a 2x3 and they’re pretty lush.
