Roller Shades on Sliding Door - one or two?

Putting Lutron automated roller shades in new home, and undecided on whether or not to do one wide (10 ft) shade on sliding doors (and end of room), or two separate shades? We won't get alot of sunlight in these windows, so think it's rare that shades will be closed, except possibly in the evening. We are up on a hill above the neighbors, so privacy is not an issue.

Two shades allows us to keep one shade down, and enter/exit to front patio if we want. If we use one shade, it's pretty wide... and wondering if this is just too much fabric to extend across the 10 ft width?

You are going to mount the shades for the doors on the drywall above the doors? Really?

Can't tell from your small photo but all the other windows look like the shades can be inside mounted.

Can't mount the shade on the door and expect the clearance to allow the doors to slide past.

Did you ask the company that's making it for you? They would be the one to ask. One would look nicer over a door than two, but I guess might depend on the fabric. You need to ask them.

In general, 10 feet wide roller shades are not a problem at all - specially motorized. The question is whether a roller shade (that operates bottom up) is the best way for a sliding door (opens side ways). Though you said that you might not use it very often, a panel blinds system that operates the same direction as the door might be the better choice.
