Since you're keeping the mirror horizontal, I'd mount it on the wall by the stairs. It would be too close to the same height as the tv on the other wall, and look too crowded under the lower ceiling area.

so keep the mirror where it is, just mount it instead of having it lean? Do you think we could put a seat of some sort next to it, the area just feels weird and empty.

What is the size of the mirror? It is a floor mirror so it should lean that is what is appealing about them...you can always add a pretty stool or chair with it..

I don't mind it on the floor, but it just looks.... awkward. the whole room does lol. I'll focus on the drapes first and then work on the rest of the room! Any suggestions on some curtains? I like the white sheers idea. Where can I look for these?

So you only want white sheers? That large room needs more!! You need drapes the sheers will look bare with your tall ceilings...

I would keep floor mirror leaning so pretty you just need to layer furniture a bench accent chair with it..

Well thats why I have you guys.. I like the photo calidesign shared of the sheers used as panels. But I also think just a different softer curtain would work. I just don't know what curtains to do. And yes agree the mirror needs a bench or a chair of some sort, but again can't find the right one haha!

If you want a lighter look with light coming through the drapes you can go with unlined french linen.

These are really nice from CB2...they have weight to them but still have a light look to them...easy back tab pleated panels are easy to hang and need no rings!

A light linen or sheer will work. A leaning mirror is dangerous with kids, and imo makes that area look unfinished. If it can't be hung, I'd find another place to put a more functional mirror, and then move the dresser to that wall and add an armchair with ottoman next to the fireplace.

Not understanding your measurements...if rod is at 91” than from floor to bottom of upper higher window should be more?

When you come down your spiral stairs how fair is side of stairs from wall? I think you need to keep floor mirror there...and if worried about safety secure with 3M..a chair will look nice next to it on the left...you need some art so maybe art over dresser and can it be moved a bit more away from fireplace ? Your headboard has a lot of blush in it..so aI would continue with blush taupe white and gray...so pretty.

The top to the bottom is 88" - thats from the floor to basically the sill above the window. the curtains we have now are 95" or 96" - and the rid is just hung a few inches above the top of the window sill if that makes sense. Yes I think a chair would look good there too. Just tough finding "the one" lol

So funny you still are giving me the wrong measurement...let me put it this way from top of drapery rod to the trim under the second upper windows how much space? So the drapes length is 95” + the space above the drapery rod just before you hit the trim for the higher upper window?

Great perfect! That is where you want to hang your rods and you can order longer drapes. The white linen I posted cont in 108” so you would need to hem up a couple inches..some cone in 102” that would work you would just hang rod a bit lower to accommodate the 102” length.

So move up the rods? So then Should I get new rods completely? These are brushed nickel.

Also which white linen did you share? Are you referring to the ones from CB2 that HIWE posted?

Your rods are fine. Find the drapes you want, and then adjust the rod for height if needed. You may not need to move the rods.

You can use same rods just move them up higher it will look so much better with your high ceilings and they will fill that space between rod and upper window...it will look grand and beautiful...

Yep..just do white so pretty!...think about putting that rod up higher it just looks so much better overall.

The CB2 ones are $139 for just 1 panel? I need 4. That's a little steep for just plain white curtains lol. I don't think I'm willing to pay that much! Yikes, I had assumed $139 would be for a set of 2.

Large windows are a bit of an investment..but you could check Amazon..I will see what I can find..but love the pinch pleat back tab from CB2....

Some things are worth paying more for, with better material and to have them hang correctly. Good drapes are something you can keep for a long time, and not have to change. I've always used custom lined drapes and found them worth every penny.

Would something like this work? $500+ is just not really in the budget right now for 4 curtains.

Personally, I think the grommet tops on the amazon drapes are too casual for the space. I'd keep looking, or wait until you can find some better ones on sale. You could also look for a very pale rose color to match your headboard.

Take a look at these I have several Houzz friends that have them and are very happy..only come in 98” but very budget friendly!

You don’t want the crib to get direct sunshine during nap time. I like drapes plus blackout or light-filtering shades under them on the sliding glass door/window. Light control is important. Watch how sun comes through the skylights, too. The position of the sun changes all year. There may be a time of year when you want to have some fabric stirred on two rods placed inside the skylights.

If leaving the rod yes 98” check the site to see if they come longer..it would be nice if you moved the rod up and could get longer drapes.

not much searching going on :( my little 7 month old is a wild one. Doesn't leave me time for, well anything haha! I do have the ikea ones saved and am thinking of just placing an order to see how i like those. I feel like i will never get this house finished sometimes! I have not done one thing since the baby came

Ahhhh yes, it is crazy how priorities can change in the blink of an eye. He is quite the handful, trying to crawl around everywhere, and doesn't leave me much time for anything. Hopefully by the time he's in college the houses is finished ! haha

What finish is the stain on your floors is it satin or semigloss. Absolutely love it! and the color is 50/50 jacobean and classic gray correct? Also are the plank 5" wide. I'm installing new wood floors and choosing a stain is a nightmare. Many thanks!

Thanks! Correct on the stain, satin finish. 4” wide planks (they were already here - unstained when we bought house) if it were my pick i would have gone a bit wider probably. But we are very happy with the stain!
