We've entered the grandparent years :) and really need to figure out where to sleep more people at holiday time (none of our kids are local). With sons-in-law and grandkids, our family of 5 is now a family of 11, with more kiddos expected.

Our basement is unfinished. We do have a dividing wall to create 2 rooms, one of which (photos below) has painted walls and "ceiling." This room is basically a rec room with overflow sleeping space. There is also a bathroom behind that one white door in the lower photo.

I'd like to figure out how to section off space into more temporary "rooms." Most of the year, we'd like to leave it open, as it is now, but come holiday time I'd like to be able to collapse the ping pong table, move the bike & TV (and fooseball table if possible), and set up air mattresses, but ideally in somewhat separate rooms.

Any form of construction I've thought of just sounds too permanent. I'm wondering about hanging acoustical fabric panels to muffle sound and light.
