I did find
a contractor but the journey to the finish line was not easy. Initially I went
with a contractor that my real estate agent recommended. He was absolutely
horrible. He gutted the entire house and then disappeared. After I complained,
he started showing up once a week and he always had an excuse for everything. I
eventually found out that he had his team working on one of his flips instead
of my house.

There was a
silver lining. My best friend found a contractor that I ended up loving. He
was the complete opposite of the contractor I started with. Very detail,
timely, and organized. Something as simple as his team cleaning up the work
area at the end of the day is something I learnt to appreciate because it was
not done by the first contractor. I received regular update and the end result
was absolutely beautiful.
