Warning issued by Miami Weather Service on twitter last night lol

I just read that people were killing the falling iguanas and selling the meat. It's not like they don't have enough of them, after all. They're everywhere.

I only went outside to check damage and to get my mail. Everything seems o.k., but we'll see what the rest of the winter is like.

Many of my thinner leafed plants like brugmansias that didn't get moved etc have blackened leaves.

I am loving it and hope it puts a dent in the bug population.

Well, it's over and I only had minor damage. I'm so sad to hear about how bad others got it. It really does help that there are so many buildings around here to generate heat, I guess. My banana leaves got burned, and are slowly dying. The sad part about that is that it takes away the shade in that corner for the tropicals until they grow back, so all my tropicals end up living in the house for most of the spring/summer.

All the brugs are fine so far, but winter isn't over. The velvet bean took a major hit. All the new tenderils froze back, but it will send more shoots out. The blooms that were exposed froze and the ones that were sheltered seem o.k.

The coleus didn't even freeze. We seemed to have an inversion here, where the warmer air stayed near the ground and the colder air was higher. Probably something to do with all the buildings around, sort of like the valleys in Utah in the winter.
