It will depend on the specific formulation of the product being used. Are there no label instructions? Pesticides cannot be sold without very precises labeling and complete instructions on mixing and application.

While it may be sold that way - a clear bag - I have never seen copper sulfate sold for agricultural purposes as anything other than a prescribed fungicide. And these would come with all the necessary instructions on dosage and application. It can be a quite caustic and moderately toxic product. It also comes in varying formulations so directions for dilution are rather critical.

yovan, it cannot be used without the directions. You should return it to whomever or wherever you got it.

I do appreciate your help and I do believe you. In the place where I live everything is banned regarding fruit tree spraying (chemicals) . Only copper sulfate that I'm talking about is on the shelves in this Nursery and actually very well known and respected Nursery in the city of 600K people. And as I say it is in clear bag in granular = powdery state, blue and / or white variety. I bought it because I want to save my Quince and pear tree. If I don't find anything to spray with I am sure to loose my trees because I lost everything in the last couple of years although I keep my place very very clean, but codling moths and pear / quince rust is attacking extremely badly, plus every other infections.

Is there no Lowe's or Home Depot or even a Walmart nearby? All carry Bonide's Liquid Copper fungicide which comes as a concentrate with very specific instructions with respect to dilution for various fungal ailments and timing of application(s).

Something else to consider: the gymnosporangea rusts (cedar-pear or apple or quince or hawthorn, etc) will seldom ever cause the demise of a fruit tree. Usually just some deformation of the fruit and foliage spotting and loss. Rarely can you get some stem cankering if a particularly intense infection. And this fugal infection does not respond well to fungicides anyway. It is typically recommended to remove or destroy any nearby host plants (the "cedars" - really Juniperus virginiana and a couple of other species of juniper) as the primary method of control. Or if all else fails, replace your fruit trees with rust resistant cultivars.

And you will need another approach entirely to address codding moths.

I'd have to question even the legality of selling it unlabled. Pesticide labels are a legal document and enforceable by Federal law. I have a very hard time imagining the selling of a bag of granulated powder with nothing more than a name for identification..........
