Find an electrical supply place in your area i.e. where the electricians go to get their supplies. People at those places are usually very informed and helpful if you go when it's not super busy.

Go look for LEDs in what ever you want for K IMO 2700 is just ugly yellow light. What you need to know is the bulb base . If it was halogen then you need to know MR16 or GU10 if incandescent then you need to see what the original bulb base is. LEDs from the big box will last just as long as the ones online .

Retro fit for what? Cans? Pictures? Budget? What is above? Insulated attic or a second floor?

The house was built in 1995. Retrofit for canned lights in kitchen - insulated attic above, and in finished basement - below the kitchen. I didn't know I may have to select different fixtures based on what is above it. Thanks for pointing that out as a consideration. I have scheduled an electrician for the end of next week, who can give me more information, as there are no electrical supply places in my area to go to. Thank you everyone for your responses.
