To my untrained eye it certainly does! Looks like you kept everything in the same neutral color palette while not being super matchy. I’d say job well done

Looks great! I would add rugs and more pops of color.

Beautiful! I might add some patterned roman shades in the eat-in kitchen area for a bit of softness. Otherwise, love it!

Very nice! I have a few suggestions. Lighting is the biggest issue. I only see overhead lighting, you need some lamps. I'd also like to see a rug in your entry and a few more organic items. For instance, a tray of succulents or a spray of branches in a vase.

It looks great so far! Love your comment that you can take it.

    1) Remove pillows on sofa down to 3

    2) Chandelier over dining room table

    3) Replace bowl with long, skinny, low element that h you can see over when eating. Candles or elongated bowl with succulents, etc.

    4) I'd like to see more photos of the dining room. You don't need art on every wall. One can be removed and one I'd replace with a mirror.

Move the two chair pillows to the sofa with the low one in the middle and the rest gone. Add a pop of yellow for interest with a pair of lumbar pillows for the chairs. Not sure you have the right bar stools. Add a large rug to the foyer.

Getting picky here.....the round wood mirror feels heavy to me. I'd opt for nothing on the wall. Every wall does not have to be filled.

In the front hall, I'd use a series of long, tall mirrors in place of the art. Could the art be used somewhere else?

Thank you so much for the comments!

What are your thoughts on the art? Should I switch the foyer and the dining pictures???

I won’t be adding a chandelier to the dining area. I put lights in the ceiling. Thought it would keep it more contemporary.

Yes, there are a lot of pillows on the sofa. I had them made so I hate to remove. But which ones should I take away If I decide to remove? Do the pillows on the chairs look ok?

What should I put on the

    Thank you again for helping!

Suggestions on what to put on either side of black console?

    You are very welcome.

On the sofa, I'd leave the 2 lighter pillows where they are. Remove the 2 brown pillows and place the blue lumbar pillow with one of the light pillows.

You could use the 2 brown pillows in another room.

I can barely see the tv console, but you don't need anything on the sides of a tv. One thing that is missing from your room is layered lighting. Even if you don't need lamps at night for seeing, the soft, layered light of lamps adds so much. If you don't have outlets in the floor, you can add 2 small skinny lamps on either side of the tv.

For the dining area, if you don't want a chandelier, I suggest a linear candle setting. Luminara makes very elegant, simple candles that look real.

Something else missing are tables for people to set drinks. If you want a more open feeling, yo could add a small C-table between the chairs and c tables on either side of the sofa.

Can you watch tv with the orchid?

Great natural light opportunity in your living space.

Like what you've done with it. Definite up vote .

Like the art and where it is hung -- no need for more mirrors.

    Three suggestions:

Would rethink the sofa pillows -- probably more than you need and you missed an opportunity to add your favorite bold color.

You might move the tall plant from the tray on the ottoman and put it in a larger pot in a plant stand if only to keep it from getting knocked over and damaged. A short interesting succulent in a wide enough pot to not get easily turned over might be good for there for a while at a time but will also need sunlight..

The bowl on the table likely needs to be moved out of the way when the table is used for dining anyway, so consider adding three or four small chains gathered at the top with an "o" and/or "s" hook to create a hanging basket for fruits and/or veggies.

It looks very nice, but it could be any home that was staged for sale or a Z-Gallery showroom. I don't see anything that tells me something about the unique people that live there. Do you have any things that you collected from travels, or items/collections that have meaning for you, that you could add?

    Thank

    you all

    so much!

I posted Primarily because i just purchased the two pieces of

art and was not sure if they worked.

I agree on swapping out the bowl on the dining table and my first thought was too many pillows on the sofa.

    @CDR Designs

Thank you for your detailed comments!

    I moved the orchid! Lol

Pillows are grey/silver. No Brown. You are right about needing low lighting.

The art looks like it came from a décor store. It's very commercial--more appropriate for a business lobby than a home.

Some people just can't seem to stop themselves from acting like jerks.

The art looks great in your space. It's really nice to see oversized pieces hung so well. The blue complements your other colors very well.

Your room is very neutral, which is obviously the look you are going for, but I think the rooms would have a little more "life" with a little orange maybe. Yellow would work, too, but for some reason yellow seems more casual to me. I think the easiest way to find what works best for you is to buy a couple of inexpensive throw pillows in a color you like and try them with some of your custom pillows (you can rotate in your custom ones periodically, if you remove some for now). I would only do one color for now. If you find you like it, then maybe look for a nicer pillow incorporating that color.

I like both pieces of art, but my first choice for the hall would be something different. I like using a series of mirrors in a hall and other places, for that matter. It creates a lot of drama and "leads" you down the hall. In your case, I believe it would reflect the view in the back.

Here are a couple of examples. First is an actual photo of a room I designed. Second is a rendering I created. They are actually the same room. The client also loves the use of mirrors. She bought a piano and I redesigned the same room as a music room/office.

The C-table shown in the upper photo is what I was suggesting. If you want something really tiny, West Elm has some really tiny one-drink tables.

You and your guests have to love their body image to want full length mirrors in the main living areas. I'd keep the art and skip the full length mirrors. They can make your guests feel uncomfortable.

I love your art. Nice choices. Your home is very warm. Neutral palette is easy to live with. You could add a touch more blue in your space to tie in the art. And maybe a bit more greenery.

Nothing wrong with the art ..or the rest of the room ....I would add some lamps only because I am not a fan of overhead lights ..but be careful..with the advice you are given ..some people would have every home decorated all the same !

I love your choice of art!! Leave that as it is! I personally prefer the "one and done" approach... and I like big art. :)

Here is an example of a series of skinny mirrors, for your consideration. Although both pieces of art are great, I recommend differentiating areas by using different shapes/configurations/texture in wall decor.

The hall should have a sense of entrance.

Would you mind posting more photos of the hall? Thanks so much.

You already have a wall of mirrors. Good for you! Then the art you have is fine!
