Kitchen design advice

We are planing to remodel our 1970s kitchen - photo and layout below. We are a family of 5 and need more storage and counter space. Also the current layout is not functional - it has a primary walkway where the fridge and sink are located with the fridge opening into the doorway. The kitchen also has 4 entrances which makes the design challenging. We are thinking about the following options: 1) completely moving the kitchen to the dining room back/right walls which would require removing Walls A and B. 2) removing Wall B only, keeping most of the current footprint but moving sink to the back wall (cheaper option). We would appreciate any design advice/thoughts as we are in the beginning stages of planning and are waiting to hear back from a few designers.

Have you thought about adding a peninsula in the area of wall A? It would make the kitchen more open, but give you counter space and storage, and you could add a prep sink to make it the primary prep zone. While you are prepping on the peninsula, a helper could be loading or unloading the DW, or gathering dishes to set the table, without interfering in your work.

This plan makes it more of a walk to the DR, but you could put a pass-through under the cabinets in the back corner beside the range. Is there a possibility you could put pantry storage in the area outlined in red or is that an entry under the stairs? If it's an entry, you could put a shallow cabinet on the side of the fridge.

Can you tell me where all the doorways go to and the stairs in the back left corner? I see no advantage to switching the DR for the kitchen. Are you getting new appliances? You could easily add a huge amount of stoarge by not having the double wall ovens. Maybe some more info would help.Are those patio doors off the kitchen or windows ?If windows how high off the floor is the bottom?

Thanks very much for your input! It is a split level house so there are lots of stairs. The back wall exit goes to the deck and back left stairs go down to the den/TV room. Back wall of the kitchen and DR have each a large garden window 71". The height of windows are counter height. Yes we will get new appliances for certain - our oven and stove are from 1976! Appreciate all of your feedback :)

any way you could post better (larger) pictures of the kitchen area? Is it feasible to expand into the dining area by removing wall B? this way you could get an island. (and you'd still have some room for a dining table on the far wall)

Also, in your plan, is that an exterior wall at the top of the plan? in other words, if you move the sink to that wall can you do a window?

Also, can any of those doorways be closed off?

Here are some more photos. Yes we can definitely remove Wall B (not load bearing). At the top of the floorplan the wall is exterior towards the back yard and there is a window there currently (71 inches wide). We would consider closing off an entrance.

so if wall B isn't load bearing, i'm guessing wall A is since it's in the opposite direction? if you want to take it down, could you do a beam? maybe close in part of the far right?

could you move the sink like this to this wall,

(lets call it 1, and work clockwise w/the wall numbers) and do an island or a peninsula?

like 2nd pic:

The rest of the dining room would be to the right

or if you could remove wall A and open the entire space

Or, if you took over the dining room area, and the kitchen, could you make this layout work. (pretend it's Tetras and turn it left or right)

or, if you closed up a doorway so you could have an L configuration somewhere, you could do this
