idk what to do with this room

We bought this house 7 months ago. It is on 10 acres so I've been working on giving it a country/farmhouse style. We are halfway through replacing the flooring throughout the house but are leaving this flooring in tact for the a while due to budget restraints (it's Brazilian tile). So I'm stuck trying to figure out what the heck to do with this room? Right now it's just a hodge podge of old furniture. I have a custom farm table and bar stools being made which I will put in place of this current table. The first pic is of the room before we put anything in it (at the bottom of the pic is the bar) Give me your awesome ideas. Is it even possible for this floor to tie in with the country/farmhouse theme at all? If not how do i hide it? Lol.

Aside from the floor being absolutely gorgeous - it's neutral. It just might work with rugs placed here and there. Do you have pictures of the table and stools that you're having made.

What other eating/living spaces do you have in the house? The view is beautiful, try to take advantage of it.

I love your floor but it is definitely bossy. Once you fully decorate the room it will all look great. I think you are going in the right direction using strong wood pieces to anchor the decor.

It's hard to tell without measurements, but think about putting the table and chairs on the left end of the room. This would keep the table from crowding the barstools. Do you have small children who will be playing in this room? Maybe the small couch on the wall on the right end, near the bar.

Do you need to have the computer in this room?

Remove the fans! Do you need them for cooling? You can do good things with light fixtures. Looks like there are mini blinds on a few of the windows - do you need to block sun? You can always put a plain braided rug or two on the floor to help define eating and sitting areas if the room is big enough for two defined spaces. I would go to the big box store and buy a couple plain rugs and roll them out to see if you like the look. You can always return them if it doesn’t work, or if you like it, order something nicer. The brick pattern and the floor pattern are the same size, which is why it looks so busy. If you change the room color, paint the brick the same color. Nice room, I bet your kids are thrilled!!!!

The table is actually a little smaller than the pic I posted. it seats 6 instead of 8. So I'm hoping it all fits on the right but I suppose we can move it if it's crammed. no we don't need the computer in there. it's really just got random furniture in there right now and is a blank slate. We have an office that we haven't even started yet that we can move stuff in to. Those pics with the patterned floor look really nice!

We have an 8 year old girl and 11 year old boy. the 8 year old plays with her toys in there and the 11 year old sometimes pays with his VR headset since its a relatively open space right now lol

I would not be so quick to remove the fans until you know if they are needed. From the pictures it looks like this room may have been added on--sometimes that means that the circulation is not the best. If you decide they are needed, there are many other choices of fan which will update the look.

When will the new table arrive? Post pics when it is in place. Perhaps you could get started by setting up the office so you know what will fit in there, and can get a better idea for placing the new table. Do you have a place to store the folding chairs?

    Good luck, you'll get there.

the fans do drive me crazy they are hanging so low. since it's got so many windows I'm assuming it'll be warm in the summer and needs the circulation but hopefully we can find something less obtrusive.
