Well why do you think glass tile isn’t clean and modern? Need not be mosaic ... need not be crackle. you picked the counter so what does it feel like ? What hardware /lighting /floor are there. I’m just saying the counter has a nice smoky feel (like it) and glass is one way to play it. And not overwhelm : as the counter is beautiful but very subtle with detail but there is detail. The configuration is anything you want.

Glass tile can be very clean and modern . Choose a large format subway style installed in a stacked pattern with matching grout..

@herbflavor i didn’t mean that it wasn’t. I was just questioning the designers opinion. I was hoping for something a bit less modern. Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it!

@User it Is pretty pricey, and not in the budget for a backsplash and wall, which are about 100 sq ft.

I like a backsplash tile which matches a main color in the counter material: a light color if you want the counter to be the star, or a medium color from the counter if you want contrast.

I'm assuming you've been to every tile store in your town with the counter sample??

If those are worn out options, you may want to try Bedrosian Tile and/or Clé Tile online, although ordering samples to match can be tedious.

It is beautiful. I'm not a big fan of glass mosaic back splashes but I do like the idea of using something glossy like your counter. Maybe a faux marble tile (maybe in a modern pattern)? Remember it doesn't have to match, it just has to coordinate.

My first thought was white Cloe or cle weathered zellige What did you end up using for backsplash?
