My previous home in AZ was slab on grade, which is what the majority of homes built there are. No over excavation required as not considered geologically earth quake prone. Stem wall foundation or basement foundation usually more expensive because of what your neighbors have mentioned. Good luck with your build.

Thank you. I am hoping to get an excavation contractor out to the property to hopefully get a decent bid. I understand its all estimates until the finish but hopefully it will give me a decent idea.

All the homes I have seen in Arizona are slab maybe there is a reason for that.Ihve no idea why that comment is spam BTW
