I live in the tropics and Lavender and Rosemary are trouble to grow here. I have Spanish Lavender and Rosemary and they are doing okay. I know I can grow them fine with hydroponics (kratky even), however, I was wondering how they would perform grafted (if at all they can be grafted).

Tulsi/Holy Basil/Ocimum Tenuiflorum grows wild here. Ocimae is close to Lavandula genetically (although not that close to Salvia-Rosmarinus).

I tried with Spanish Lavender on Tulsi, there is initial adhesion of the scion to stock but there is rapid death of stock (I wonder whether my Lavander is infected by a pathogen or the fact that I had to use a plastic bag to cover the lavender might have killed the scion in intense humidity - grey mold maybe). I don't have enough plant material to conduct more trials. But can grafting enthusiasts here have a try at these combinations? Lavandula Angustifolia and Nicotiana are used in intra-familial grafts (or at least graft experiments) - https://patents.google.com/patent/US20170347531A1/en

I've also seen patents involving Angustifolia-Stoechas combination for producing topiary lavenders (and basil trees).

Also can someone point me to a forum or location where people would try out these kind of crazy grafts and all?
