SOS Corn Plant-What to do?

We bought this corn plant about 7 years ago, she is still in the same pot. I've been reading up on how to help her, but I'm nervous and would like some input. I think she needs to be cut and then replanted, but I'm no expert. Would appreciate any advice!

Chop off the shoots close to the point where they are attached to the central stem and put them in a vase of water. They will root easily. The Central stem will also produce new shoots to replace the two you will cut. You can pot up the cuttings when they have a few inches of roots in water. You could plant the cuttings directly in potting mix. I had 5/5 success with water and I am partial to propagation in water.
