Still hand quilting big stitch method. I have about 1/3 left to go. This is the Summer-weight quilt with no batting. I've been meaning to make one for the Summer here just to keep off the chill of the ceiling fan in the Summer.

Linda, I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter. She's blessed to have family to come home to.

I quilted about 3 hours yesterday on a quilt with a long explanation. I'll save it for when I post the completed quilt. I seemed to struggle with it and my neck and shoulders are very tense this morning. So I may just cut up fabric or assemble completed blocks.

We are basically hunkering down. But we have two adults kids who live at home and will be out and about. They are, of course, invincible. i stocked up on what we would need to avoid shopping about two weeks ago. I thought I would stop last night and get another carton of milk, but there wasn't a parking space in the lot, so I skipped it.

There are not any cases where I live, but the stores are empty! I went to walmart supercenter yesterday just to do normal shopping(my 2 college kids were told to stay home after spring break so I needed alot more food) No TP, Puffs, paper towels, pasta or frozen pizza, People didn't seem unpleasant yet, but clearly everyone is in a panic. I did end up picking up several frozen meals to stick in the freezer.

So sorry to hear about your daughter, LInda. One of my nieces is also going through a divorce currently. She is very stressed out, but she lives far from any family so she is alone. Glad you are there for your daughter and girls.

I will be working on a space themed quilt today, for my nephew, the physics graduate. It's been fun piecing together so far, but I will post when I get it done.

I’ve been doing chores this morning and also cut the next block of my kit. I have an unexpected 3 day weekend but I have lots to keep me busy! Friday they cut all full time central office staff to 24 hours a week until the end of May as a cost-saving measure (the hotel industry in Orlando is taking a huge hit). Not really a big deal for me but I know many coworkers will be in a bind financially. I think I will talk to my boss about working only 20 hours a week and “donating” the rest to the other girls in my department.

Linda, I’m sorry to hear about your DD and kids. Divorce is hard on everyone, no matter how amicable it is.

I feel for you, Linda. When our kids divorce it's difficult on everyone but we do what we have to do for them.

I cut all the fabric strips for the borders on the FB-BOM quilt this afternoon. All 19 strips and almost 800 inches of it! Now to sew the pieces together and sew the borders on. Hopefully, at least the first border this week-end. :-)

Linda, I would be devastated if my son told me that they were splitting up. So I'm sorry for you. Of course, if the situation is grim and there is no other alternative I would have to live with it. That doesn't make it easier.

Yay I finished quilting the dog quilt for my grandson. I also finished putting a border on a baby quilt for my stepdaughter's new arrival. The baby was due in May but decided to come into the world at 3 lb 9 oz. My longarm has an encoder issue, so I need to order one next week. I may quilt the baby quilt on my regular machine.

Linda, I am sorry to hear about your daughter's divorce. It is harder when there are children involved.

So I went to the sewing room planning on cutting up scraps, but I couldn't help myself and quilting a few more squares. I know I am addicted when I quilt even when I am in pain from quilting. LOL

Seems like Colorado is on lock-down. Governor declared no gatherings larger than 250 in the state. Our church is going to online broadcast starting tomorrow. Public schools have spring break next week, so they are extending an additional week right now, although that may change. DS is supposed to travel for business next week (I am hoping he can postpone). DIL is a teacher, so will be home with our granddaughter. Since we go home from our winter away on Wednesday, I have been busy putting away 3 months worth of stuff. We went to the store to pick up a few things and didn't realize how nuts things are!! When you "snowbird", there isn't much left in the cupboards when you return - but we do have TP!!! :) Maybe I will head out in the morning early to see if I can actually get some groceries!

Tonight, DS & granddaughter came for dinner. DH is playing poker with the guys, so I got them all to myself! After they left, I hit the sewing machine!!!! I am working on a baby quilt from a pattern Jackie shared at retreat last year - the elephant one. I am working on the borders now.

Sue, I know what you mean about snowbirds having no food to return to. We will be leaving for home on 3/31, stopping in Omaha for a wedding (which is still happening, so far). We won't get home until 4/6, and who knows what will be happening by then. The stores in Palm Desert are slowing emptying out. All events attracting in excess of 250 people have been cancelled. I haven't heard that the schools have closed, but I'm sure that will happen soon. I sure hope we don't get sick on the way home. That would be very scary. Stay well, everyone.

EDIT: We've decided to leave for home this Thursday, two weeks ahead of time, and the wedding in Omaha will have to go on without us. I feel much better now.
