Glam LR is Complete and it Exactly What I Envisioned :)

Pictures don't do it justice. Try as I might, I can NOT get a good picture of the newly glammed up LR. The glittered walls won't photograph well at all, they just look shimmery. The best I can do is dim the lights but that doesn't show the correct wall color but does help the glitter show up a little better. Makes it more of a golden color rather than a soft sand color (SW China Doll) with Rustoleum Iridescent glitter paint (clear base with glitter). I feel like I'm in one of bathrooms at the Venetian Resort in Vegas :) :) DH gets the "Best Husband EVER" award for letting me create a (and doing most of the work) girly-girl, glittery LR! One coat ended up being perfect, I just wish the photos could see what I see.

Here is the wall color. No matter what the photos look like, in real life, they look like the China Doll sample with full on glitter rolled on.

Rustoleum Iridescent Clear Paint

Time to get some sheets washed. Hope you like it.

Oh, the girls...Lolita, Bonita and Anita :)

Wow! Seriously awesome. I‘d enjoy doing laundry so much more in such a glam and cool room. :)

    The doggies are so cute!

Thank you SO much! I just wish the "full on" glitter effect would show up in photos. We've left the door off of the LR...for now. We may or may not keep it off. I love having a dimmer switch in there too :)

I love it! Have to admit, when I was reading this LR I kept thinking Living Room and I was really trying to imagine such a thing SW China Doll is a great color and I love your girls!! ENJOY BIG TIME~

Thank you everyone! I can't think of anything I'd do differently...within my budget of course :) Sure wish I could get the glitter to show up like it does irl. Solid glitter. I didn't intend for it to be that thick/dense with one rolled on coat but it took me all of about 5 seconds to determine I LOVED it! LR...Oh yeah, I copied this to the Decorating forum too (not just the Laundry Room forum). Oops :o

Finally got some good footage of the glitter coverage in the form of a short video. It's best seen at the beginning of the vid, under the dog picture. It's all very subjective to the lighting but even when the dimmer is turned way down, you still see tons of glittery sparkles. I just love it :)

Beautiful and I love those pitties!

Here's my brood, the chi was found on the road dumped and is now in a forever home, the black bagheera is a foster at my house and the brown one in the middle is mine and graciously lol sharing my lap.

Elegantly gorgeous! It makes me feel like I'm at a ritzy bar and I'd better be properly gussied up! Big thumbs up for you!! Bravo!

Sea Sea, Thanks! I love your thoughts on my glam laundry room :) I too feel a little "under dressed" when I go in there. Now I have my long whispy eyelashes on, complete with some Revlon Eye Art Eyelash Glitter. I'd be wearing Fenty's Diamond Bomb, all very tastefully applied of course, but there's no where to go :( So my love of all things sparkly is what inspired the glittered LR make over.

Bumblebeez, gotta love a person that loves dogs! Yours look like they are properly spoiled!

Howie found us. He was curled up on our patio late one night. It was a stormy night complete with tornadoes. He'd been shot, was full of fleas, skinny, scared and soaking wet. I had just lost my 11 year old chocolate Lab six weeks earlier and had no dog food in the house so I cleaned out the fridge! He ate and ate and ate. To test how good of a dog he was, I straddled him and slowly started moving my hands up his neck to his head and then nose (all while he was eating). I know, not too smart but I had a feeling about this dog...or I WANTED to have a good feeling about this dog and I was right :) He's been the best mannered dog we've ever had. After we got him stable and some weight on him, we took him to the vet for shots and to be tested for heart worms. He was positive :( Three months of keeping him near motionless and a $1000 later, his doc gave him the green light. We've both been blessed :) Two vets say he's Australian Cattle Dog but when looking at pictures on line he looks to have more Dingo in him. Whatever he is, he's perfect EXCEPT for today when he climbed over the chainlink fence (this happens often) and found some really good mushy/wet cow patties to roll in and he didn't just rub one side of his neck in it, he rolled his entire body in it (sigh).

Aw, Howie is a beauty and so blessed to have you! My foster is heartworm positive and starts the shots next month. Ugh

Oh no. I can empathize. It was a long 3 1/2 months of staying home and making sure he was as still as possible. That meant no playing or running and I had to take him out on a leash to use the bathroom. At this point he had separation anxiety so I couldn't leave the house without him going bananas...so I didn't leave the house.

Added a smart speaker to the laundry room. I have a house full (I think this makes 10 Google Homes of various models) but never thought about adding one to the LR. Have them on the patio and porch but never considered the LR. Music, news and podcasts. Thank you again for all the compliments :)

hahaha I expected LR was living room. hahahahah

arcy_gw, my bad. I've been in the LAUNDRY ROOM forum for about 3 months and mentioned my LR glam makeover. When I posted the photos, I was given the choice of adding the post to other forums and added the Decorating forum not thinking about the "LR" abbreviation.

I can't believe the video I linked to has 4739 views since YESTERDAY! :o There may be a run on Rustoleum Iridescent Glitter Paint. I finally turned the light off for the first time. I promise, NO MORE pictures after this one!

Cattle dogs were developed using dingo dogs when they were first developed as a herding dog in Australia, as describe in the video I linked. That may explain the resemblance you see in your dog to a dingo.

That was so interesting! Thank you :) I've watched nearly every video on YT about Dingos and AU Cattle Dogs but hadn't seen this one. Not a single AU Cattle Dog looks like my dog tho, hence the confusion as to why 2 vets said that's what he mostly is. But, if you do a Google Image search for "Dingoes" the results range from spot on to very similar. My vet said not to waste my money on the commonly sold dog genetic tests. They're more for "fun" than accurate. But the good ones are cost prohibitive for most, $600-$800 :o I fall in the "most" category!
