There is a lot of gray, with the gray walls, gray floor, and gray sofa. Maybe consider painting the walls a different color? Do you have room to move the sofa back from the wall a little more? Maybe add two floor lamps and a console table behind the sofa to warm it up a little! and maybe a three piece frame set above the sofa. Good luck!

@BeverlyFLADeziner those are nice but if I had to choose the one with the gold. But what pillows and wall art?

@Heather S i can’t paint walls here but its not much room to do all of that I think. I’ll show a video so you have a better idea but thank you!!!

I think your choice was nice...the gray spot ties it to the couch and offers lots of color choices for art and pillows and throws for the couch...i would suggest not placing the couch so tight against the wall so you can add a floor lamp where it is need behind it ...as well as implying a more spacious feel..

Push the rug under the couch a little all around and use the two matching tables under the tv ...spaced apart in front of the couch

Your rug choice and furniture is contemporary ..so i would look for one piece of modern art or 3 matching ones as wide as will fit..lastly as your space i quite small and your tv is quite big..i would look for a sizable cabinet that has some storage for under the tv

@btydrvn thank you. What color pillows or can you help find pillows that’ll match I’m struggling. Also what wall art? I’m also willing to get a new rug if needed. and so take the two small tables and put them spaced apart in front of the couch and leave the big table under the tv still?

I think you underestimate yourself...you have made good choices so far...take your pics to a store like Home Goods..pick 2or 3 in different sizes like lumbar...small square and one on the largish size...add a fluffy or furry throw...this is also a good place for art...just take measurements of the wall area and try a few things you like...any other way will cost way more in time and money..shipping...waiting...

Yes on the tables..but under the tv you need more...to cover the wires and measure up to the scale of the big tv

@btydrvn ok thanks I‘ll look for a piece of art, do you have any suggestions? especially for pillows? so remove the table under the tv and get a cabinet instead ok thanks

Show us a picture of any other furniture you have (even from the bedroom) that may work under the tv

The art should be long and big...or 3 pieces(1 big in middle and smaller ones on each side)...start with one you really like and build on that...the side pieces can be a spray of metal leaves?.or something else...it needs to be a bigger statement than just one piece

Should I get a new rug???

you have a very neutral base so the rug choice can go in many directions... the pallet in the rug you have can absolutely work, but do you like it? if not, return it and then decide the color direction you like to move in. i agree with others that say it needs to be bigger though. I would say decide on a rug first before making other decisions. may be helpful to start an idea book with inspiration pics so everyone can have a general direction to start

What colors would go best with this couch @Theresa Janssen

your grey couch is neutral and so just about anything can work with it, so it becomes a style thing.... I noticed you did have a few pics saved in your ideabook and the rugs were also neutral, so wondering if that is what you are drawn to... heres a few neutral rugs...

I agree with Theresa - It seems you tended toward more of a monochrome look in your idea book. Are you sure you want to add a lot of color, at least on your larger pieces (rugs, etc.)? You can always add just touches of color in your art or cushions. Maybe monochrome is peacefuI to you. It's up to you to choose which direction you go.

The down side to neutral rugs they show every little drip or spot...any rug with a smaller pattern..some color variations...will show spots less and add a little life to a very neutral room...even if the color variations are different shades of gray....a smallish pattern is more practical..

Rugs are hard for sure..it is worth it to keep trying til one really speaks to you...try to start by choosing the dominant color you want
