Hi there,

I'm a new homeowner and our back deck has built-in planter boxes in several places along the railing. The deck and planters are wooden and painted. The planters are the same height as the railings and don't have any intentional drainage holes in the bottom. The wooden bottom is covered in moss and certainly wouldn't be waterproof. Should I line the planter boxes with a garbage bag? Is water leaking down into the boxes safe? They've just been open for the last year, so rainwater has gotten in them, etc.
