It's in storage right now while I'm between houses. :( It looks exactly like a standard barrister bookcase when it's in use, but imagine each level coming apart into individual pieces.

Are the side panels one long panel each side that runs the full height of the bookcase? Is it a fairly modern piece of furniture?

Do a Google search on Globe Wernike bookcases. Does yours look like one. These were on of the first modular type pieces of furniture. They could be taken apart and moved more easily in case of a fire.

You might also look for old pieces by Shaw-Walker.

It looks like the GW's, but instead of having each level as it's own box, it comes apart into a bottom, sides, back and glass. The sides and backs slide down into place in slots.

Colleenoz - nope. There are no screws or such, the only hardware is the rails for the doors.

So yours is different from others because it comes apart even further than the boxes, right? I think there were a few companies that made some like that. Try Lundstrom?

That is EXACTLY it!! "The book section is composed of two ends, a back, and a shelf, with or without door. " It goes on then about how it can be quickly put together without any tools. It's brilliant in it's simplicity.

I absolutely love the silly thing, partly because it's not the standard, and I want another one or two.
