Any appliance showroom with high end appliances can wow you with shiny, steel appliances. Here are a few things to keep in mind........fridge - sub zero is chic and $$$. Similar product for less is Liebherr. Both are still high end. Gas cooktop efficionados should also consider induction cooktops. These cook with the responsiveness like gas without the added peripheral heat and CO2 emissions. I love mine! Boils a litre of water (quart) in 100 seconds. Nothing else will do that! If you live in a warm climate, you will love cooking without heat at the stove. If you need more info, let me know. High end lines have induction cooktops, especially European brands.

Dishwashers.....my clients love Miele. I also love the Fisher Paykel dishwasher drawers for an added option, space permitting. In a larger kitchen of someone who entertains, adding one dishwasher drawer in the island or need the beverage centre allows for glasses to be handled separately. This is in addition to a full dishwasher. I have a Bosch DW, also great. Wall ovens can be chosen to match the other items. There are many with wonderful features.

Microwave....drawer option is available or above counter models. Panasonic is still a leader in the field.

There are so many hood fans too.....Zephyr is a leader.

Hope this helps.....

Just my opinion, but I'd steer clean of Fisher & Paykel dishwashers. I came here to search what else people like. Ours just keeps breaking and regular repairmen don't seem to know how this thing works so it has to be factory repairmen, which means I wait a week each time I need something fixed. I'm shopping for another. The styling is great but doesn't clean dishes well (and I'm one of those that practically cleans dishes before I put them in anyway) and parts are constantly breaking. I don't know why they cost so much.
