How old is the window? The Essential probably does not have that wash mode as that is a hardware upgrade. You should be able to just open it to 90 degrees and clean it from inside the home. Not as easily, but still cleanable from inside.

Less than 6 months old. Grrrr I specifically wanted the casements for their ability to clean from inside. I was not told I needed to request different hardware to be able to do that.

You can still clean them from inside. Just a bit more of a hassle than with the specialty hardware.

I’m just now discovering this and I’m devastated! Contractor ordered these….we wanted wood on the inside ( not offered with this collection)and now I can’t clean them! I don’t know who to blame this on. We waited forever for them and now this! I’m 67 and can’t do the ladderthing anymore. I’ve been ripped off!!!!!!!!

I am totally disgusted also! I was not told this. I ordered casement for the ease of cleaning from the inside. My ground outside is too uneven for a ladder. Mine were put installed in 2025. I blame the salesman at LS Building products, Peoria, Illinois. Not good sales practice of LS.
