Countertop advice

Looking for advice on countertops for my new kitchen. There is a lot of natural light in the house, which pulls out a green undertone from the cabinets (which I didn’t not expect). As the pictures show, from some angles the cabinets appear to match the backsplash perfectly, but from other angles, they...don’t. Looking for a countertop to balance the colors and lighten up the space a bit. Thanks for any thoughts.

I just had ICESTONE installed in my house as I wanted to get away from granites etc and LOVE it - I did pearl white may be an option

Also, in anticipation of comments on this, the refrigerator ultimately will not stick out as shown in the picture. It will be flush.

Beautiful space! My advice would be to grab a cabinet door, a piece of hardware and a sample of your backsplash and go visit some stone yards or quartz showrooms. What you see in person is not what I see on my computer screen. I don't see any green undertones in your cabinetry. There are tons of countertop options out there, but you need to choose one that speaks to you. Good luck!

The backsplash is really pretty and a different, unique combo with the cabinets. I see a lot of vertical lines between the backsplash and the floor and almost competing colors. I would like to see a very light pretty neutral countertop to break it all up. This would allow the backsplash to stand out as it should.

Don't pinch your sink between the plywood and the top please. Plywood cannot push sinks tight against stone bottoms; a strap system can (Hercules Universal Sink Harness or Sink Strap). You're guaranteed a leaker if you do.

If the plywood is staying as underlayment, cut the sink hole larger than the flange. Set the tops, install the straps and sink. If you ever need to change that sink, you'll thank me.

Thanks Joseph, but the plywood is only temporary.

Wow, that is a gorgeous combination you have, the backsplash and cabinets. I agree with finding the most neutral top possible. Maybe stainless steel?

Kitchen looks so lovely. Would you please share details of cabinets and backsplash?

It is a very pretty space and I love Zalco’s idea of stainless steel counters. I think soapstone or marble would be great options as well.

With all the gray and the medium tone of your cabinets and flooring, I would look at white counters to brighten the kitchen. The cabinets appear to have a matte finish. Your pendants may make a difference once they are installed. I would have the lighting installed as soon as possible to see the kitchen in that light.

I would use Corian in Glacier White. It will work perfectly with both backsplash and cabinets and make them "pop".

BTW, I love the brick. Great installation.

If your refrigerator is flush you will not be able to open it

Thanks for all of the thoughts, everyone. Right now my front runner is Cambria Delgatie, a creamy white with muted tones of gray. Will see the sample with the countertops this weekend.

Helou49, the backsplash is Burnett Beige Brick and the cabinetry is Ultra Craft Rift Cut Oak in Storm Grey finish.

The photo on the left is what the sample tile looked like when I selected it. The photo on the right is how it looks when installed. These photos showed up side by side when I Googled the tile name this morning. Quite different!
